We were upon the Fjeld,Edward and Iand our guide Anders,looking for reindeer.

We will not askhow long ago it was;because after all,it was not so very long ago.

How did we get there?

Well;if you must know,we went to the endof the Sogne Fjordin a boat,and then we drove up the valleyin small carriagescalled cariolesuntil we were tired,and then we started walking,and now,at about three P.M.,we were on the Fjeldgoing toward the Sœter or Shieling,which is a mountain hutwhere we were to spend the night.
