Alicewas beginning to getvery tiredof sittingby her sisteron the bank,and of havingnothing to do.

Once or twiceshe had looked intothe bookher sister was reading,but it hadno pictures or conversationsin it.

“And what is the use ofa book,”thought Alice,“without pictures or conversations?”

So she was thinkingin her own mind(as well as she could,because the hot daymade her feelvery sleepy and slow),whether the pleasureof making a chain of flowerswould be worth the troubleof getting upand picking the daisies.
